Morgan Rushworth XTC 7523.6000 CNC Fibre Laser Tube Cutting Machine

The Morgan Rushworth XTC Compact Tube Fibre Laser Cutting Machine combines intelligent automation, modular design, and high-speed tube processing. With ultra-fast automatic loading and the flexibility to switch between semi-automatic and fully automatic (reduced capacity) operation, the XTC range is available in three capacities to process round tubes from 8-120mm, 10-160mm, or 10-230mm diameter. The machine achieves three major breakthroughs: “zero scrap waste, multi-scenario compatibility, and high-precision ultra-fast production,” redefining the standards for small tube cutting.

The machine adopts a side-mounted machine bed structure, with the front chuck featuring a retractable function. When combined with a composite dual-function chuck, it enables zero scrap cutting, thereby minimising material waste. Additionally, it is equipped with a high-speed pneumatic chuck specially customised for small tubes. A full-servo floating support system is utilised at both the loading and unloading ends, working in tandem to enhance cutting accuracy and processing efficiency.

The Impact of the Defence Sector on UK Metal Fabrication Demand

The Impact of the Defence Sector on UK Metal Fabrication Demand

UK defence spending is rising at a pace not seen since the Cold War, and for metal fabricators with the right capabilities, that represents a significant commercial opportunity. Understanding where the demand is coming from, and what it means for workshop investment, is worth the attention of any fabrication business looking to grow.

A unique solution for welding fume extraction

A unique solution for welding fume extraction

In recent years, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has placed welding fumes under closer scrutiny, with scientific evidence linking exposure to a range of health issues, including lung cancer, neurological disorders, and asthma. Employers have a duty to provide a safe and healthy working environment for their staff, which includes putting effective controls in place to manage exposure to welding fumes — general ventilation on its own is not enough to adequately mitigate the risks. Although welders themselves may be adequately protected by PPE, the HSE has placed particular emphasis on other employees who share the same workspace.

Carbon Footprint Reduction for UK Metal Fabricators: Where to Start

Net zero isn't just a government target, it's increasingly a commercial reality. More and more UK manufacturers are being asked by their customers to demonstrate their environmental credentials, and fabrication businesses that can't answer that question are starting to lose work to those that can.
