Automated Cobot Welding System

 

An automated cobot welding cell built around a collaborative robot from FANUC provides a compact, high-precision solution for MIG welding where space, repeatability, and safety matter. Integrated force sensing and easy teaching enable fast setup for high-mix, low-to-medium production, while coordinated motion control maintains consistent bead quality.

Fume extraction is handled at the torch by Translas, capturing particulates at the arc without affecting shielding gas. A synergic MIG power source from Magmaweld delivers stable arc performance, pulse modes, and digital control for steels and aluminium.

Supplied turnkey by Bison Machinery Ltd, the package includes the cobot, welding system, and extraction, with optional safety gear and positioners—resulting in a quickly deployable cell that reduces training needs and improves weld consistency and productivity over manual methods.
