HINDLES OF LINCOLN CASE STUDY

HINDLES OF LINCOLN

Hindles of Lincoln are expert engineering contractors, providing specialist precision fabrication, sheet metal work, ducting and machining to the power generation, green energy, rail network, marine and food processing industries across the UK.

Having the right metal fabrication machinery for every task they undertake is critical to their success.

At Bison Machinery we are proud to have been supplying Hindles of Lincoln with machinery from across the metal fabrication range for more than 30 years. During that time the company has purchased more than 25 machines from us, ranging from bandsaws, lathes and drilling machines, to guillotines and press brakes. We also service all their machines, helping ensure they are always operating to maximum efficiency.

HINDLES OF LINCOLN’S LATEST PURCHASE

As part of Hindles of Lincoln long term plan to reduce their carbon footprint, the decision was made to invest in upgrading an existing, fully operational Morgan Rushworth hydraulic CNC press brake, purchased in 2011, with an electric model that would be more cost effective and efficient.

As the team know the Bison machinery range well, they were able to identify the model and specification of Morgan Rushworth press brake that met their exact requirements from the machinery model detail provided on the Bison website.

HINDLES OF LINCOLN

The selection of A MORGAN RUSHWORTH XPE 1300.36 PRESS BRAKE was supported with a working demonstration of the exact model at the Bison showroom, allowing the Hindles team to see the press brake in action and confirm it was the right choice for their needs.

General Manager, Gary Couling was very impressed with the equipment, placing the machine order within 24 hours of visiting THE SHOWROOM

Being able to deliver from our onsite stock meant that within a few days Hindles were able to benefit from the efficiencies and production improvements delivered by the new press brake.

We were delighted to receive positive feedback from Gary Couling on both the installation and our Bison engineers. And by Bison taking the existing Morgan Rushworth machine in part exchange, the whole delivery and installation process was hassle free too.

OUTCOMES DELIVERED

The new MORGAN RUSHWORTH XPE 1300.36 BALL SCREW ELECTRIC PRESS BRAKE is proving to be a far more efficient option delivering 30% faster cycle times, using 50% less energy and reducing service costs by 75% too.

And with no hazardous waste produced, the XPE model is a far more sustainable solution, supporting Hindles of Lincoln’s focus on reducing their overall carbon footprint over time.

WHAT THEY SAID

“I have been dealing with Morgan Rushworth for many years. The first machine we purchased in 1988 lasted over 20 years and during that time it was used most days. Bison purchased it back from us as part exchange.

Now once again the team at Bison has met our requirements, providing an excellent value, high efficiency electric press brake, delivered from stock and installed with minimal hassle and disruption. We’re delighted with the ease of use and the operational benefits and savings it’s providing. It was definitely the right choice. And, as we have done previously, we’d recommend Bison to other manufacturers.”

The Morgan Rushworth XPE ball screw servo electric press brakes are designed for high productivity and high repeatability bending. The servo driven ball screw design leads to extremely accurate high speed positioning of the bending beam. This 100% electric design results in lower energy usage, less servicing costs, less downtime and no hazardous waste, when compared to traditional hydraulic machines. The range includes two models, the 900mm x 20 tonne and a 1300mm x 36 tonne; these are ideal for high production work on small components. Both machines feature the advanced ESA 675 2D CNC touch screen control fitted on a height adjustable arm.
